Joel Rex Davis of Henrico is President of Davis Oil Company, a third-generation family business that assists the needs of professional drivers, travelers and commuters in large modern travel centers combined with quick serve restaurants. The company, with nearly 260 employees self-distributed ExxonMobil refined products and operated several quick serve restaurant brands to include Starbucks, Popeyes, Wendy’s, Denny’s, Subway, Dunkin and Little Caesars through franchise or licensee agreements. In late 2021 Davis Oil divested its retail and hospitality holdings to focus on real estate development opportunities throughout Virginia.
Davis currently Chairs the Virgina Gateway Region (VGR), an economic development board that serves the tri-cities and surrounding localities. Davis currently serves on the board of directors of AMBEST, INC, a sales and marketing organization that serves independent operators in travel center industry based out of Nashville, TN. By appointment to the CTB, Davis will also serve on the boards of the Central Virginia Transportation Authority (CVTA) as well as the Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA).
Davis attended Tidewater Academy in Wakefield, VA before earning a B.A in Managerial Economics from Hampden-Sydney College. He and his wife Lori live in Henrico and have two daughters- Anna and Emily and one son- Matthew. Hobbies for Davis include boating, golf and travel.
