Burwell Wayne Coleman of Norfolk, Virginia, serves as chairman of the board and owner of CV International (CVI), a logistics and supply chain services provider for international export and import clients. CVI was formed in 1991 from a merger of Coleman International and E.L. Vanderberry & Co., two Norfolk-based freight forwarding companies. CVI has grown into a mid-sized family-owned company with more than 100 employees located in eight offices from the mid-Atlantic into the southeastern states. Over 15 years ago, CVI expanded its footprint into vessel agency with the acquisition of Capes Shipping Agency, which was founded in 1958 in Norfolk, Va.
Coleman’s list of appointments and memberships includes serving as a founding member of the Virginia Coastal Chapter of the Wrestlers in Business Network, a division of the National Wresting Coaches Association. He also was nominated to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel Commission and served on the Norfolk Economic Development Authority Board, the Norfolk Botanical Gardens Board, and is a founding member of the East Beach Mentoring Group for local underprivileged men.
Coleman is chairman of the Old Dominion University Maritime Institute Supply Chain Advisory Council and has been a member of the Virginia Maritime Association for more than 35 years. Coleman, a licensed pilot and a licensed customs broker, is a graduate of the Old Dominion University Strome School of Business.
